Haddenham Ceilidhs (pronounced 'Kayleys') are similar to barn dances, but with that extra something! Dance displays and singers give good all round family entertainment. Top quality bands are used, and Hugh Rippon - rated by many as the best in the country - calls most of the dances. No previous experience is needed and two left feet need not be a handicap! Whether you're single, a couple or in a group, you are all welcome. Come along and enjoy yourself!
In addition to our monthly ceilidhs, you can enjoy our monthly acoustic concerts in the Walter Rose Room where top quality artists perform for you. The usual format (except on Haddenham Festival in December) is for our MC, Kitty Vernon of Herga and Sidmouth fame, to start the evening at 8.45pm and our guests to do a couple of 45 minute spots from 9pm. The room only seats 60 so make sure you're there in plenty of time to enjoy the entertainment.
The Festival in December is an extension of the monthly Ceilidhs and Acoustic Concerts and give you an unique opportunity to enjoy performances that cannot normally be seen at our regular monthly events. The day starts in the main hall at 12 noon with Isla St Claire, continues with The Ram Company's performance of Waltzers and Wonders and then launches into Belshazzar's Feast's Yuleogy concert which precedes their playing at the evening ceilidh. And there are even more things happening in The Walter Rose Room. If you cannot make the whole day, then why not just try one or two concerts, where individual tickets can be purchased. Please see booking form and our publicity leaflet for more information.
Haddenham Village Hall is only available to us every other year, so do take advantage to bring in the New Year with Steam Chicken and one of their favourite callers, Tom Tilley. New Year's Eve at at Haddenham is an experience not to be missed!!! Our next New Year"s Extravaganza will not be until 2011!!
You chance to join in - at 7.15pm most evenings - make it a great party!
Admission to the venue gives admission to all events for the evening and you can move from ceilidh to concert at your leisure.
